Description
BTS Develops Technology Plan for City of Pontiac DPW&U
Bristol Technical Services recently completed a project with the Department of Public Works and Utilities in the City of Pontiac that developed a long range technology plan. The DPW&U is responsible for engineering, water & sewer maintenance, general services (garage, highway maintenance, signs, etc.), forestry & grounds, wastewater, and sanitation services. The Department, over the years, has gone from a staff of over several hundred people to a minimum efficient operation of staff plus outside contractors. The DPW&U Technology Plan defined a variety of activities that will be implemented over the next three years. These activities are designed to bring the DPW&U divisions the latest technologies along with increased internal staffing support.
The Department has already started to implement many of the plan's recommendations including additional staffing and a GIS Utility Conversion project.
