BTSI Gets Involved in the Community
Staff from BTS have been actively involved in community activities around the
state. Mr. Charles Bristol is actively involved in the statewide GIS
organization - IMAGIN (Improving Michigan's Access to Geographic Information
Network). He is on the Board of Directors, Co-chair of the Events Committee for
the annual conference, and coordinates the design and development of the IMAGIN
web site ( www.imagin.org ).
In addition, Mr. Bristol is involved with the Friends of the Detroit River, a
nonprofit group dedicated to the preservation and protection of the Detroit
River. He is on the Board of Directors, acts as Treasurer for the organization,
and maintains the organization's web site (
www.detroitriver.org ).
Mr. Bristol is also actively involved with the Friends of the Rouge (Board
Member) ( www.therouge.org ) and the Friends of the Belle Isle Aquarium (Board Member and Treasurer)
( www.belleisleaquarium.com ).
He also provides basic web support to the Detroit Agricultural Network
www.detroitagriculture.org
And finally, Mr. Bristol is actively involved in the Capuchin Soup Kitchen
EarthWorks Garden program. He sits on the EarthWorks Garden Steering Committee
and provides coordination for the volunteers needed during the season for
picking and packing the EarthWorks Garden vegetables. He also maintains the
EarthWorks Garden web site (
